Welcome to The 2009 Art Expo.

The Ocean Shores Arts Expo '09 is just around the corner, from 18th to 20th September. Registration has closed and we have a record number of entries of around 200.

This year we encouraged the use of our new on-line entry process to reduce our use of paper and to facilitate record keeping. We are delighted that the majority of artists took us up on this option.

With the theme for this year 'Seeds of Change', artists have submitted works reflecting their contemplations about change, seeds and new beginnings. OSAE President Ri Fraser said, "Each year we present a title that is inspiring and local, with a chance for environmental, social or political commentary. This year the artists have surprised us with their interest and vision on this topic.”

We are happy to announce our three judges for this year: Emma Walker, artist, Kezia Geddes, curator at Lismore gallery, and Renee Bolton, artist and TAFE lecturer.

We are deeply grateful that the Lions Club Brunswick/ Mullumbimby continues to be a major sponsor, and this year there are several more major sponsors: Summerland Credit Union, Byron Shire Council, The Echo, Byron Shire News, Pepper’s Resort, OSCA, North Coast TAFE, and Print Rescue.

All are welcome to the Opening Night Party on Friday 18th Sept at 7 pm. As well as the innovative, exciting local art to view and buy, there will be awards and judges presentations, drinks and nibbles and local musicians performing. Bring your friends and make a cultural night of it!
