Art Competition
Secondary School Students:
Conditions of entry

  1. Each student may make one entry only. There is no entry charge.
  2. There are six sections for the competition:

    1. Water colour/gouache
    2. Oil/acrylic
    3. Mixed media
    4. Print making/drawing/pastels
    5. Sculpture
    6. Photographic and digital art

  3. This year’s theme is “Life’s surprises”.
    • Entrants must be currently enrolled at a secondary school in the Brunswick Valley or Byron Shire.
    • The entry must be clearly marked on the back with title, category and artist name, address and telephone number.
    • Entrants should also provide details of school attended and year in which enrolled.
    • All 2D art work (other than sculptures) MUST be able to be mounted or attached (eg with blutack) to a wall.
    • OILS MUST BE DRY or work will not be accepted. Maximum overall size for hanging works: 1mt x 1.2mt.
    • 3D sculptures footprint no bigger than 1 sq metre and max weight 25kg.
  4. The Judges’ decisions will be final. The organisers will provide certificates for placegetters and the six first place getters will each receive a prize of $50
  5. Entries in the secondary students section close on Friday 19th, August, at 3-30pm. They are to be delivered to the front offices of either Mullumbimby or Byron Bay High School. Late entries will not be accepted. After the event, art works will be returned to each school site, unless collected at the venue.
